Burns Law Offices,
S.C. was established by Attorney Scott Burns, who is currently the sole
shareholder of the firm. Scotts practice focuses on estate and
retirement planning, including related taxation, and planning for closely
held businesses.
Attorney Burns
has counseled clients in all aspects of estate planning, from preparing
a simple will to designing sophisticated strategies to: (i) avoid probate
and minimize state and federal death taxes; (ii) protect assets from
ones creditors; and (iii) plan for retirement account distributions,
including analyzing and making recommendations as to the account asset
mix. With respect to business planning, Scott has counseled clients
from startup (making recommendations as to entity selection) to eventual
transfer of business interests as part of a business succession plan.
Scott received
his B.A. degree in Business Management from Hartwick College (1981),
a Master of Business Administration degree (Finance concentration) from
the College of William and Mary (1983), and his J.D. degree from Marquette
University Law School (1996). Scott has also received the Chartered
Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Cash Manager (CCM) professional
designations.

is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for
the Eastern District of Wisconsin and is a member of the following organizations:
